Opening the Exciting New Season at Boswin Robotics: Building the Future with AI and Robotics

As the new school year begins, Boswin Robotics is thrilled to welcome students and families back for another exciting season of hands-on STEM learning, innovation, and discovery. At our Mississauga facility, located at www.iboswin.com, we continue to deliver engaging robotics education for youth ages 4 to 17.

This year, our programs span from our foundational JK/SK Builder Program to our advanced VEX IQ Tier 1 & Tier 2 Competitive Teams and VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) Middle and High School programs. Across every level, our focus is not only on building robots but also on introducing students to Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts—helping them understand how the technologies of tomorrow are connected to the projects they work on today.

Early Foundations: JK/SK Builder Program

At the earliest stage of learning (ages 4–6), the JK/SK Builder Program introduces children to robotics in the most fun and creative way possible. Students use LEGO-based models to build and experiment, fostering curiosity and problem-solving skills.

AI Connection

  • Introduces pattern recognition (similar to AI image recognition).
  • Helps children recognize shapes, colors, and repeated building patterns.

Learning Outcomes

  • Motor skills
  • Creative play
  • Early teamwork and communication (“show and tell” skills)

Building the Basics: Primary Robotics Program

The Primary Robotics Program (ages 6–9) expands on foundational skills with structured projects and beginner-level programming.

AI Connection

  • Students practice sequencing and conditional logic.
  • Mimics decision-making used in AI systems like autonomous vehicles.

Learning Outcomes

  • Basic programming
  • Structured planning
  • Teamwork and communication

Advancing Skills: Junior Robotics Program

In the Junior Robotics Program (ages 9–12), students combine advanced building with more complex programming.

AI Connection

  • Work with data inputs (sensors detecting light or distance).
  • Explore 3D modeling and virtual design, connecting to AI simulation environments.

Learning Outcomes

  • Intermediate programming
  • Design thinking
  • Leadership and teamwork skills

Competitive Robotics Pathway: VEX IQ Tier 2 & Tier 1

For students seeking competition, Boswin offers two levels of VEX IQ Competitive Robotics Teams.

Tier 2 (Intermediate)

  • Focus on teamwork and strategy.
  • Learn performance optimization, an AI concept.

Tier 1 (Advanced)

  • Complex engineering and coding challenges.
  • Connected to reinforcement learning (AI trial-and-error).

Learning Outcomes

  • Competitive teamwork
  • Strategy and resilience
  • Advanced design and leadership

Advanced Competition: VRC Middle School & High School Programs

Our VRC programs represent the highest level of competitive robotics at Boswin.

AI Connection

  • Autonomous routines → self-driving cars.
  • Pathfinding algorithms → AI in navigation.
  • Predictive strategy → AI predictive analytics.

Learning Outcomes

  • Engineering design
  • Advanced programming
  • Project management and leadership

Why Boswin Robotics? Where Young Minds Meet Robotics & AI

Boswin Robotics is unique because AI is infused into every stage of learning. From pattern recognition in JK/SK to reinforcement learning in VEX IQ and autonomous programming in VRC, our pathway develops both robotics skills and AI literacy.

We prepare students to:

  • Think computationally
  • Collaborate effectively
  • Lead with innovation
  • Prepare for AI-powered futures
