Boswin Summer Camp was pleased to welcome MPs Iqra Khalid and Fares Al Soud for separate visits to our camp locations in Mississauga. These visits offered an opportunity to connect with our local representatives and share a glimpse of summer learning at Boswin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MP Iqra Khalid\u2019s August Visit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In August 2026, Iqra Khalid, Member of Parliament for Mississauga\u2014Erin Mills, visited Boswin Summer Camp. From robotics equipment to projects on laptops, there was plenty to share. The photos capture moments of conversation with campers and the Boswin team, offering a glimpse of the learning and community connections that make camp special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Closer Look at Robotics and Technology<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Robotics was one of the highlights of the visit. Around the robotics field, students gathered beside a robot and a laptop, providing a window into the technical side of camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experiences like these give young learners opportunities to connect ideas with practical challenges. Building, testing and explaining a project can help children practise problem-solving, communication and teamwork\u2014the skills that make STEM learning valuable beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecting with Campers and the Boswin Team<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The visit also included time alongside campers at their computers and conversations with members of the Boswin team. These everyday camp moments show how learning can bring people together: a project on a screen becomes an opportunity to ask questions, share ideas and explore something new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Boswin, we value opportunities for young people to share what they are learning with the wider community. Welcoming a local representative into the camp offered another occasion to celebrate their curiosity and participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recognizing Summer Jobs and STEM Learning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In her Instagram post about the visit<\/a>, MP Khalid highlighted Canada Summer Jobs support that helped Boswin hire 20 summer students. She also recognized the team\u2019s work in robotics and AI, writing that she was impressed by their \u201cpassion, dedication, and innovation in robotics and AI.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her message emphasized the value of summer camps as places where both campers and counsellors can stay active and continue learning. In our reply, we thanked her for highlighting Boswin Robotics and expressed our gratitude for the Canada Summer Jobs support that created opportunities for young people on our summer team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcoming MP Fares Al Soud to Our St. Hillary Location<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Boswin Summer Camp also welcomed Fares Al Soud, Member of Parliament for Mississauga Centre, for a separate visit to our St. Hillary location. We appreciate his taking the time to visit our camp and connect with the Boswin community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
