In the last 20 years, we have seen an increase in technological advancements that show no signs of stopping. As we keep moving forward into the future, it is important that our children are well-equipped to understand the complexities of technology, and prepare themselves for a life filled with many opportunities in the STEM/STEAM field.
At Boswin Robotics, we offer some of the best summer robotics camps available for kids in Mississauga, starting at our Primary Robotics Camp (6 – 9 years old), and ranging up to our Competitive Robotics Camp (10 – 14 years old). Our instructors are hand-picked to ensure that your child gets the best possible experience at our summer programs, while also committing to an environment of fun and inspiration for your child.
Summer Camps for Kids
During the summer robotics camps, your child will be immersed in the world of technology, which at these levels may include Lego Robotics, K’nex, and basic programming knowledge.
Boswin offers 3 different robotics camps for kids:
Primary Robotics Camp
This program is available for children from 6 – 9 years old, who may have an interest in the STEM/STEAM world. The primary robotics camp at Boswin, aims to motivate and inspire the students by providing a more hands-on experience using Lego robotics models.
Junior Robotics Camp
This program is available for students from 10 years old or older, with varying background experiences in robotics and/or programming. The aim of the junior robotics camp is to pique the interest of your child’s mind by providing a more in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of robotics, and more hands-on experience than our Primary Robotics camp.
Competitive Robotics Camp
This program is available for robotics students that are between 10 – 14 years old, and have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in any robotics-related activity. The competitive robotics camp is intended for students who wish to participate in potential robotics competitions in the future, and are willing to cooperate with other students as one team. This program differs from the rest in the sense that the student should be self-motivated enough to work on their own various team activities, as this program is not instructional sit-down teaching.
Boswin Robotics also offers 4 auxiliary summer camps for kids that engage in other developmental processes, such as academics, French, athletics, and academics using Minecraft:
Academic Enrichment Camp
This program combines academics, and athletics to provide your child an enriched experience while being a part of Boswin. According to a review done in 2015, “Research on humans has demonstrated improvement in cognitive performance… in individuals who were physically active during childhood and adolescence,” (Gomes da Silva & Arida, 2015).
By providing your child with exercise in the morning, and an academic-focused afternoon, we ensure that both you and your child will love the experience at our academic enrichment camp at Boswin.
French Camp
This program is targeted towards students who are aiming to improve their French, by immersing them in a French-spoken summer camp with various activities and exercises.
Multi-sports Camp
In addition to our other summer camps, Boswin provides a multi-sport camp which involves a variety of activities that your child will engage in during their summer at Boswin. These sports include, but are not limited to: soccer, basketball, waterplay, and badminton.
Minecraft Education & Sports Camp
Lastly, Boswin also offers a Minecraft Education camp, where students are taught different subject areas such as Math, History, and more! Teachers in over 40 other countries around the world also use MinecraftEdu to teach their students necessary topics in a fun and engaging way that definitely keeps the interest of your child. Paired with the Minecraft Education, the other half of the day would be spent for physical activity with a variety of sports.
